Okay, so, hi! *I have a computer again, though now I'm in the depths of writing about prestige languages and German and French and morphemes and graphemes and.... stuff.
A couple of weeks back, my industrial was still a little bit sore but just fine, not crusting anymore, so I went in to have it changed from Teflon to the single bar. *The piercings have been dandy, keeping up with the H2Ocean to avoid the little crusting that's happened since the change. *Then today I reached up to toy with the metal while thinking, and when I look at my fingertips, I noticed they're speckled with blood.
You've got to be kidding me.

ARGH. *I thought I was over the dratted hill with this one!
The bottom part of the hole has always looked like that; I think that's a side-effect of a sort of weird piercing, which I'll talk about later. *The top hole shows what I assume we not-so-lovingly term The Bump.
Back to full aftercare mode instead of H2Ocean and sporatic soaks when I think of them. *Also, due to my innately distrustful nature, I still don't think the piercing should have gone up through the length of cartilage like it did (shouldn't it go through the thinnest part of the cartilage?) *Okay, time for what I hope will be a clarifying Paint image and not just confusing:

The one on the left is supposed to be the ear from the top looking down, looking at the top of the curve of the helix. *I would have thought the hole should be more centered (red) as opposed to through the cartilage that curves over and finally out the top (blue). *(You know the cartilage that curves over: the metal goes through this the long way, like a horizontal lobe piercing.) *The image on the right is me trying to show the same from the side. *I pointed this out to the piercer, but he said no, that it was just fine. *He's the boss, y'know? *I said nothing more.
*mutters foul things and kicks the doorframe*
Hope everyone's doing well.
