Sternum

I want to get a sternum piercing. Does anyone have any advice, comments, pictures, etc.???? :mrgreen:

make sure you go to an awesome awesome piercer, get surface barbell, all that good stuff. i know they're generally very hard to heal...

Um, unless you're a well trained piercer, most likely. If it's just play piercing, then whatever - I plan on doing a four piece frontal corset, only play though *waits to be flamed* - but if you want to do it and actually keep it, and have it heal, I don't think you're going to have much luck doing it yourself. Senior piercers are always best for permnant surface piercings.

DIY surface piercing on the sternum...yeh. Not such a good idea. For one, proper placement would be hear impossible, as would the actual piercing it straight and so forth.

Fact is, most of us are more intelligent than the 'normal' idiot walking around on the street. *Just because we like needles in our bodies doesn't decrease our intelligence...OR our sanity, whatever the 'general populace' might think.

Besides, flaming gets you banned. **grins* *And I've always had an itchy ban finger when it comes to that sort of thing.

A sternum would be virtually impossible to DIY and get correctly. *If you have a friend who can pierce you that you trust implicitly with a needle and a surface barbell, you can try, but there are no guarantees...whereas if you go to a pro well trained in surface piercings, you're much more likely to have a straight, well placed piercing, which will be much more likely to heal.

yay! lucky! i'm still trying to find out if my piercer will do surface piercings under 16+...dang, it's difficult getting ahold of that man. lol. ^_^

being truthful most young ppl should not be trusted with needles.... there are a few that are fine with them... my gf's friend taught her 9year old how to give herself insulin so if she needed it and her mum wasn't around she would be fine..... but with the young ppl piercing the only worry i have with anything to do with piercing another person... no matter how much u read and wtch videos... it's nothing compaired to doing it on a real human being....

Well, most of the young people on this site...you wouldn't know they were young from talking to them until they told you their age. *

But no, kids shouldn't have free access to piercing needles unless they know what they're doing.

Well, you should all take comfort in knowing that my mother has approved, since she's the one who had to pay for my needles in the first place :P

that might not say much for my mom's judgement, but I thought it'd help. jk! lol..
