Hello, all. *New to this board, got two tattoos, looking for five more, need a recommendation.

I went to a Chicagoland area shop to have a Scottish Clan Coat-Of-Arms applied (the plan is two Coat-Of-Arms, two Crests, and a Venn diagram.) *All employees of the shop said that it was best done by a particular artist; they gave me the shop number and his schedule for that week, told me to call and speak with him, so I did and arranged to give him the artwork.

Went to give him the artwork, he said he might have the design ready by the following week; I left my number and never heard back from him, since (this was about two weeks ago.)

Unfortunately, I no longer have the money needed to have this first COA done. *But I am trying to save up, again, and would like to get recommendations from any Chicago-area clients for an artist that not only does EXCELLENT COA's and Crests, but will also at least keep me in the loop and let me know his/her progress on the design, when they will be available to have the work done, etc.

Who knows of an artist in Chicago that ROCKS at COA's/Crests, and will keep me updated?

Thanks,

WolfShade

Hi, Wolfshade. *Here's a shop that does excellent tattoo work just south of Chicago in Hammond Indiana: *Bugaboo Tattoo *7014 Kennedy Ave, 219-844-4343. *The best artists there are Don and Chencho. *

While I am not aware if either has done a coat of arms or crest, I'm certain that you would be pleased with the results you get. *I personally won't ever go anywhere else. *Go ahead and give them a call or stop by. *They stay booked up pretty far in advance... plenty of time for you to check them out and save your money.

Thanks for the reference, Kelt9. *Unfortunately, that's too far for me to travel; I live in the North Shore area. *I am looking at downtown Chicago simply because
a) I've heard great things about the artists, there, and
b) I can take the "el" to get there

Also, I'm REAL hesitant about having my skin indelibly marked with a COA from an artist who has never done one, before. *Someone who has done COA's in the past is priority one; pictures of COA's done by the artist would be most appreciated.

The Venn Diagram, however, is a horse of a different color; Venn Diagrams are very simple.

Thanks, again, for your input.

If you go to the city DO NOT go to Jade Dragon, they will rip you off.

Theres a great shop in Libertyville called Liberty Tattoo.

1027 N. Milwaukee Ave.
Libertyville, ILLINOIS

any of the guys there can do the job. If you want something pierced, talk to Mandi. Theyre all really great people!

their myspace is *http://www.myspace.com/libertytattoos *

Check out the pics, the studio is flawless. They are all licensed. And once a month, they all go to bloodborne pathogen knowledge tests. GRADE A. A little pricy, but well worth it.
