hey everyone. i just got my navel done two days ago. since yesterday it's started to itch, i've read it's normal to itch a lil bit when it's healing, but how much is normal? coz it DOES itch , > < am i allergic or something. would it also be because this is the second time i've pierced it.. first time it got rejected, just wondering if the ..scar tissue might be causing any problems?

When I got my nipples pierced, they itched like CRAZY. It could be for a few reasons for you. First, it could be because if you're doing aftercare (which you should be) the skin is dried out more than usual because of the soap and the salt. Secondly, you could be allergic to whatever soap you're using. See if you can find some pure aloe vera (they sell these lil teeny bottles for .99 in the trial and travel isle of Target) and put that on there and see if it makes it feel any better.

oooh thanks. oh yeah and another thing to point out. Im currently staying in Hong Kong, and i got it pierced here. actually both times it was done in hong kong, but at different shops. For aftercare, they both gave me lil bottles of alcohol, and they said they mixed medication (i dont know what it is in english) in it. all my friends who've had their piercings done in HK were given rubbing alcohol. but apparently it's not good for your piercing?

so for aftercare i do the sea salt soak plus one drop of tea tree oil, and then i use the alcohol solution. sound okay? and i'll use the aloe vera gel starting tomorrow ^ ^

You shouldn't use alcohol at all. It's way too harsh for the piercing.
