Well, I've been looking through this site for the longest time, but placed my first order about a month ago. So, I started off getting some jewelry for my lip piercings. I bought a pair of twister rings, and a pair of these neat stud/rings with talons. They're like studs, but they have a bar that connects and hang over the top of your lip (kinda like wearing a circular barbell). Anyway, the twisters were perfect, but the talons weren't. This was the first time I had ordered anything for my piercings, so I didn't realize how large the items were. To make this short, the back part that was in my mouth was so huge i couldn't touch my lips, haha. That was fine, because it was my bad, and they let me return them. In their place, I bought some studs. I bought a pair of studs with talons, and a pair of bioplastic studs, both sets in 14ga. Well, I received my order after about a week, and was very excited to put them in. I started to put the bioplastic stud in, and it was very hard to find the hole. I figured since I've been wearing rings since they were pierced that I just needed to play with it to get it through. So, I played with it for a while, and got it half way in. It didn't really hurt, but it wouldn't go through so I pulled it out and tried to push it through the front (to see if I could open the other side up or something). Then it started to hurt, so I put it away. The next day I tried putting in the metal talon stud i bought in my other piercings, and it pushed right through. Apparently things got a little messed up, and I was sent a pair of 12ga bioplastic studs. Being so small, I couldn't tell the difference. The next day my lip swelled up about 3x the normal size, it was worse than when I first got the piercing done. That was about 3 or 4 days ago. The swelling has gone down, but the piercing is still sore. I'm just kinda disapointed because I might have damaged my piercing. I would send it back again, but it's such a hassle to pack it up again, write out the note, pay for shipping, and find time to go back to the post office. Hopefully this heals up ok.

Reason #1 you shouldn't try to force jewelry in.

I didn't force it through. I said I tried to play with it, because I thought I just had to find my way through the whole. It didn't hurt at first, and when it did, I immediately stopped and put my original jewelry back in. I woke up this morning and it was crusty and there was a speck of dried blood at the bottom of it.

Thats odd that you said the BioPlast was 12g. We don't have 12g bioplast jewelry and i have never seen bioplast jewelry before out there.
Sorry i don't know what else to say, it doesn't really seem to be an issue with the jewelry, but if you don't like what you received you can always return for an exchange.
Just so everyone knows.. we throw away all jewelry that is returned to us...in case those of you that read this find it odd that we actually accept returns.
Thanks

This is why I only order from Painful. Greatest service ever.
I have noiced that any company that sells Bioplast jewelry, that they do fit a little tighter. What I would do if you want to try it again is lube up the stud before you put it in with water based lube, go slow. That should help the insertion.

I got a 14g bioplastic labret and it fit a lil looser than the metal one... I drooled out of the hole, icky. That only happens when I have no jewelry in there, or I guess when I have something thinner than what I normally wear.

I've noticed that not all jewelry is the same, even tho they may say it's a specific guage, there will always be some variation between manufacturers. With my 00g plugs, there's a variation of almost half a mm, depending on where I buy from.

Indeed this is true, that is why you must really ask what the millimeter measurement is before buying. I personally realized that during my last stretch, my taper was 0.5mm larger than my jewelry. That's the problem of not having any standardization in the sizing of body jewelry, too much variation.

the same thing happens with pyrex glass plugs or talons. Ive seen them off by as much as 1mm, which can be painful

if the jewelry has had enough time to stretch the hole, a 1/2 mm jump shouldnt be too bad. But if you only wear plugs, they dont stretch themselves as much. When I plan on stretching, I switch to a Niobium CBR (im allergic to steel and Niobium is heavier than Titanium) for a month, and they usually drop right in.
Trust me, I know of the 1mm jump, I just went to 6g from 8 2 weeks ago. I looked funny with ice on my ears, haha

Yeh, I've heard of bioplast being slightly bigger at times.
Ugh. Organics, esp stone, are hard to get even sizings for.

thus the reason i stick with titanium/niobium. the size is always the same. But boy do the organics tempt me!

Maybe the one I have just fits tighter or something. I bought a bottle of H2Ocean, and applied it to the piercing every night. On the 3rd day the cone of skin forming around the jewelry was gone, and it's completely back to normal. That stuff is great... anyway, sorry for jumping to conclusions, maybe it's just a little bigger than a normal 14g. Thanks for the replies
