Reincarnation? Care to explain a bit further? I'm very interested in that topic area...

I have never been happy with conventional religon and think most of their doctrin is designed to keep the masses in line.

On the other hand, I do think there is a higher power that we are all a part of. That power is not a God however that protects us or makes things happen (good and bad).

So the next BIG question is, where do we go when we die? Thinking about my mind with all (or how little) it contains I cannot visulize nothing but a black void when I die. My soul, for lack of a better word, MUST go forward!

After much reading and discussion I have come to the conclusion that we were here before (in most cases we can't remember) and will return in the future to continue our learning.

So much for now. Hope I havent run on too long.

Hello Blackbird,

A source for more info. on the subject is The Reincarnation Library (a book club). May be on line.

What are your feelings on the subject?

I was technically raised Catholic, and while I can respect any religion, I'm mainly an agnostic. I do believe in a higher power, but I also believe in reincarnation, karma, and the power of the cosmos. I'm more or less Buddhist anymore. I believe that, so long as you live a good and kind life, you will be rewarded by whatever diety is out there.

I'm pretty much the same way. I believe in a higher power, but I'm not sure if it's God or Nature or something else entirely. I also have to wonder how much this higher power really does intervene in our lives.

My philosophy is to respect all life (environment, animals, humans, etc.) and to treat others as I'd like to be treated.

It's funny you mention philosophy...I just finished writing a paper on "My philosophy of life" for my World History class.

Are you allowed to write what you think or do you have to doctor it up to please the catholic school?

It depends on the teacher as to what I write. The teacher that I'm doing this paper for knows my thoughts and beliefs, as well as knowing ME personally since I was born. She's cool with what I write, as long as I back it up.

Aw that's pretty cool. Is she a neighbor or family friend?

Her eldest daughter and I have grown up together and gone to the same school since we were kids. They go to the same church that we do.

I live about one block from the Big Water. Used to live on it in my boat but moved back to dry (almost) land. Still have the boat though, never know when it will be needed again.

Must get to work now. Write more later.
