My gf just recently pierced my ear for me with either an 18 or 16g...when it heals, i would like to know if i can just slide in a 14...if your lobes are at this small of a stretch, is it safe?

After it's well healed, she can probably start playing with the jewelry. This helps to get the area limbered up and elasticy. 18 to 14g isn't necessarily a good idea. But 16g to 14g without a taper shouldn't be a problem if the ear is well-healed and she's been playing with the jewelry.

why would she need to play with the piercing? its my ear...lol but what do i do since neither one of us remember what age the needle is? should i just slowly taper it? and do i leave a taper in? im confused about the whole taper idea

For some reason I read that as your girlfriend has a piercing that she might stretch.

So uh, change that to you can play with it when it's healed.

As for tapers, if you use them - slowly taper them in, stop if you feel resistance and don't force it. And do NOT leave tapers in.

You put a taper in, and right at the back end you put whatever piece of jewelry you want, and then it goes through right behind the taper.

You can wear a plug, CBR, labret stud, etc.

another question...how long between stretches?

Minimum of one month. Depends on how your ear looks and feels.
Also - no forcing. If you feel resistance when tapering, don't continue. Put the normal jewelry in and try again another day.
Vit E oil is good for limbering up your lobes.

But don't start until your ear is well healed!!

Bird - go ahead, I have no problems if people want to keep asking me about Germany. Just figured I'd stop it before things got a little too off topic.
