Evoke and others who are updating their lives here in the OFF TOPIC section...
Good to see the sense of community and offer of friendship to the rest of the group. It's this kind of posting and updating here that makes this a coherent and close knit family.
Birdy My Friend, See my PM
For the rest of y'all. I'm just going to fill you in on my Pulmonary Doctor visit of today 11-19. I am dealing with other dark demons but that isn't for public consumption. Mom has to keep some kind of strong stalwart image here. It wouldn't do to find out that she has foibles too.
OK first,
Weight: 155 lbs (70 kgms - 11 stone)
Height: 6 feet (182 CM)
Blood Pressure: 138/92 (a bit high, but i'm having mental melt down problems
Blood Oxygen Level: 98% (free air, no oxygen)
Heart Rate: 85
BMI (Body Mass Index): 21
Dr. Festic is calling for NO more testing for the next 6 months for the Pulmonary side of things. He told me that he was pleased with the progress that I have made over the past 9 months. He said he was surprised and elated that I was doing 1/2 mile (800 meters) every morning and not needing oxygen on completion of my workout. I said, Workout??? All I do is walk my dog up and down the road 1/2 mile every day. I ain't runnin' no marathon or chasin' fire trucks through the neighborhood. I mentioned my mental anguish from this physical collapse. He tried to buoy my spirits but it took Amanda, my Nurse, stepping into the exam room and walking over to me and giving me a BIG HUG to ease my fears a little bit. She's a sweetheart and she said to me,
"I don't do this with patients but something tells me that you're special and you really need this."
I cried. We hugged. I cried some more. She told me I was doing better than most. I felt better. I don't know if she lied to me or not, but I'm taking her words at face value.
So my next pulmonary appointment is MAY 22.
Next month is a Cardiac Stress test and a dreaded colonoscopy.
I'm not looking forward to the Stress test but if The Spouse will help them do the insertions I won't mind the colonsopcopy.
Makes me horny thinking about her and crisco and rubber gloves. *OOoooooooo*
OK that's it.
