Well I've been pondering about getting a scarification piece to cover up some of my..uhh..past scars, but then I was thinking that maybe I shouldn't cover them because those old scars represent a significant chunk of time in my life and get the piece next to them somewhere. I know it's ultimately my decision, but what are your opinions?

Hi Tessariot,
As you say, this really is your decision and your body and for the rest of your life.
My thoughts anyway...
Obviously the scars you already have were very significant at the time and the reasons for them will always be with you, although the reasons for them have been left behind.
The question to me is - do you still need to see those scars to constantly remind you or are the memories now enough.
Also ( 'cos I don't know where they are) do you want or care if other people see these scars. If you have a scarification piece over them will this help you with you life now or in the future. If it will help you I'd say go for it.
You will never forget the past but you may not always wish to have your scars for others to see (or explain?)
Whatever you decide will be right for you..

That's a good point. My old scars are on my thigh because I was very secretive about it and many people still don't know about them. The scarification piece would really just be for me so I don't know, I'll keep thinking about it and thanks for the advice.

You are more than welcome, I hope it helps a little. Whatever you decide will be right for you and that is all that is important.
