I don't know how many of you follow the news and stuff like that but yesterday the trial for Sean Bell's murder ended and the killers were all found not guilty. I went to a rally in front of the Queens DA office and I could hardly stand it, there were speakers who were family members of either Sean Bell or of other people who have been killed by the NYPD. Afterwards we marched to where Sean Bell was killed and that was even more painful. Fortunately there wasn't much of a police presence (smallest I've ever seen) and everything was peaceful.

Also the past few days at my school have been crazy. One night there was a bomb threat and the guy lit some people's doors on fire. They had 5 different police departments patrolling the campus and they brought in a bomb squad to sweep every building. They weren't allowing anyone who wasn't a student or faculty into any of the buildings. The next night there was another arson and they moved everyone who was living in that building over to the gym. They finally arrested someone last night though.

Also yesterday I basically saw some pedophile trying to lure this girl who looked about 12 into his car (she didn't fall for it). I've seen other things like that lately too, mostly people unsuccessfully trying to steal cars. So I don't really think the world is gonna end, but this is madness, there's strange stuff going on.

Dang, that's pretty crazy. Makes you wonder what the worlds coming too. I teach in a preschool and we had to go down on lockdown because it's on a campus and the cameras saw some guy without an id sneak in to the building and then they lost him and couldn't find where he went and nobody recognized him. We had to manage to keep 20 kids between 3-5years old quiet in the dark. Not an easy task when about half of them are afraid of the dark. Luckily they caught the guy and nobody was hurt. It just really does make you wonder why this all goes on.

What's even crazier is that there is nothing in the school's history of this sort of thing. The only time they've ever keep anyone off campus before this was way way way back when sexism was still completely socially acceptable and it was an all male school and they wouldn't let any women on campus and well, back before it was a school.

So many criminals get not guilty when they really are. Its sad that someone can get away with murdering someone else. They took someones life, and yet they get to life, and dont have to pay for what they have done.

What sickens me even more than people getting away with murder are people thinking they can get away with it just because they have a badge. Funny how I feel safer around gang members than I do around cops, although who can blame me when **** like this happens?

I don't know how I feel about the whole thing with Bell. I suppose I'm actually rather indifferent.
I guess it all seems the same to me... gang shootings, police shootings, whatever.
