When I was young I was told I was tongue tied and that I needed outpatient surgery to fix it. After freaking out because of the needle they would have to stick in my arm (funny now....) to knock me out for the procedure I said no way, I'll live with it. Well its started to <blank> me off (17 years later). I did a DIY piercing a few weeks ago and started thinking what else could I do. I grabbed some chloraseptic spray and soaked my web in it for a good 5 minutes to get it numb. Had some all metal scissors I pressure cooked to sterilize them. Poked it with a piercing needle to make sure it was numb. And snipped about 5mm into the web. Bled for about 5 minutes and is now just kinda achy.
So far I have been able to touch the roof of my mouth with the tip of my tongue...impossible since the day I was born! And I am looking forward to better speech and bedroom activities ;-p
Saved what $2,000 in Dr. bills too >.>
As with anything on this site: do so at your own risk.
And after this is healed I'm going to re-evaluate and see if I need to go 'deeper' as when it heals I read that it can shrink back up a tad.
