ok guys. i got my nipples pierced saturday night, and after looking on here i saw some things that contradicted with what my piercer told me to do. *she just told me to wash them with anti-bacterial soap and to use neosporin, but somewhere on this site i saw that neosporin shouldnt be used. so i was just wondering what you guys recommend. thanks!

shotglass with hot water in it ... and put in a pinch of SEA salt ... hold this on your nipple for a few minutes ... then repeat with normal hot water ... do this for the first 1/2 weeks then after that do the same but hold the glass over the nipple then take it off and turn the ring or bar ... you also have to make sure u clean off any gunk thats on the jewelry with a tissue or cotton bud soaked in hot qwater

Don't use neosporin! *My piercer told me that too, but neosporin isn't meant for puncture wounds and leaves a residue that may slow down the healing of your piercings.
Sea salt soaks and washing with mild antibacterial soap is the way to go.

Welcome!
Sea salt soaks are wonderful things :: 1/8-1/4 tsp of salt (kosher or sea salt, any form of NON iodized salt, you can't use table/iodized salt it will burn the piercing) in 8 ounces of water as hot as you like it. *shot glass works very well to use on nipple piercings, do the soak for about 10 minutes or until the water cools. *twice a day. do this directly before or after washing. *Only turn your ring/barbell if it's clean, and only if you feel comfortable. *You don't have to. *Make sure you rinse after washing and doing your soaks!
Happy healing, let us know if there's anything else we can help with!!!

Also, if you hear anything about using Bactine, that's bad to use on a piercing as well. So are alcohol and peroxide, so don't try to use those for cleaning, either.
If you notice that you develop crusties, make sure those are cleaned away from the piercing area before you turn/rotate/move your jewelry. Crusties in a new piercing =PAIN.

especially in the nips...it's a nightmare.
btw, never force the ring to move if it doesn't want to.
