View Full Version : How-soon-after question - on nipples, piercings, and, well, someone else's mouth

I've just hit week two, and I'm infectionless, really healthy, and head over heels in love with my new nipple piercing. *Trying to look up how soon I can get naughty with my nipples again only gets me into trouble with porn sites, and my piercer is out of town for a couple of days.

And so, I come to Painful Pleasures, seeking advice. *How soon can I safely engage in mouth-to-piercing without worrying about infections? *I assume that I should sea-salt-soak and clean it afterwards, but how long until I can safely wait until the morning after to clean the piercing? *Maybe even until I next shower?

Many thanks!

Actually, playing with your new nipple piercing can get you into serious trouble. *Until they are fully healed, you should never touch your piercing without clean hands, and neither should anyone else. *Also, you should never let anyone else's bodily fluids contact your new piercing. *Which means, no oral contact until the piercing is healed...between 12-24 months from now.

Even if the piercing seems to be healed and healthy, there are still parts of it that are easily able to become infected. So even thought it SEEMS ready to go...it's not.

...wow. *Darn good thing I won't be tempted for a while, anyway. *I'd guessed it was three months at the earliest, but it's good to know I should avoid contact for upwards of a year. *I'll get it checked out with my piercer when I get back from junior year abroad (read: fifteen months hence) to see if he'll give the go-ahead.

Thanks so much!

Keep in mind, not all piercers will tell you that you need to wait sooooooooo long after you get your nipples pierced. *A lot of us will go to a good piercer if they're good at piercing, and then totally ignore their aftercare information, because the piercer doesn't have a clue. *When I got my nips done, the piercer said I could change the jewelry, have contact, everything in 6 weeks.

Yikes. That could have bad...

When in doubt, I generally default to the APP site for their advice.
