Last night I gauged my right ear from a 10G to a 4G. I slept with the taper in. When I woke up, my ear lobe was a bit swollen, and it was kinda red. During school I noticed that my lobe got really big and it was shiny and very firm, kinda hard actually. When I got home I cleaned it out, and I tried to squeeze whatever was filling up my ear out. There wasn't any puss in my ear, just dried/coagulated blood. Does anybody know how bad this is, and what I should do about this? It's not torn, blown out, and I don't think it's infected, I just think my ear lobe filled up with blood. Will my lobe stay big or will the size eventually go down, and should I take out the taper or not?

I gauged my left ear from a 10G to a 4G with no problem at all, so I don't know what happened here (well obviously it was a big stretch...)

DOWNSIZE! *TO 12 AT LEAST!!! *IMMEDIATELY!!!

Congratulations, you've pretty well destroyed your ear. *Downsize. *Immediately. *Do lots of sea salt soaks. *Let your ear heal. *For a minimum of 2-3 months. *

You've torn it, badly. *You should never stretch more than one gauge at a time...or THIS happens!!!

i didnt downsize. i left the taper in, and everything in my ear has been draining out. ive been making it a point not to touch it, unless i'm soaking it with sea salt, or cleaning the taper off, which i did three times today. it doesnt hurt now, and the size of my ear lobe has gone down a noticable amount.

If you're not going to take our experienced advice, then why did you come ask for it?

Because you hae refused to downsize and let the ear heal, you will have effectively made MUCH more scar tissue in your ear than necessary.

Also, since you STILL have the taper in there, the ear wil lnot heal in a uniform manner, but rather a conical shape...

both of these are DAMAGING, and will make your ear *look and be troublesome in the future.

Please, if you plan to stretch, take care of you body!

Also, if you plan to come and ask questions, either take our advice for the sake and health of your piercing, or don't bother asking. *Thread closed.
