Well, my school doesn't allow piercings. I haev about a month and a half until school starts again, and I just recently gauged up to 12. Do you think 6 hours a day when school starts will be enough time to make the gauge shrink or close up? I want to keep it open, and I'll put the gauges back in every day after school, I just want to make sure I won't have to regauge it daily, because that would hurt.

It may be a bit tight to get it in and out at first, but if you've had it for a month and a half, chances are that it won't be a big deal. But keep in mind- you should try it out first to see if I'm right. Some people's piercings can close/shrink in a matter of minutes.

a 12 gauge isn't the large of a hole only two up from a standard piercing. You may be able to find jewlery that doesn't obviously shot, I'm stretched. I'm not saying in any way to completely disregard the schools rules and policies, they have them for reasons even if sometimes we ( mainly myself) are too stuborn to realize it. But maybe bending the rules on this one might not hurt.

Thanks for the replies, guys. In about a month, I'll see if they close up quickly or not. Otherwise, I'll start shopping for not-very-noticable jewelry. Also, do any of you guys know any gauge types that aren't too noticable? I was thinking tunnels - what do you think?

get some glassware retainers

Tunnels at 12g are sometimes difficult to find, and it's usually easier to get some straight plugs to hold the spot.

Small plugs would be your best option. *I have a pair of 12g glass doubleflares, and they're absolutely TINY when in the ear, I'd bet you'd have no problems with them.

PEARLKILL ACRYLIC EARLOBE PLUGS (http://www.painfulpleasures.com/xcart/customer/product.php?productid=917&cat=169&page=1) -I'd suggest black to match the o-rings, to make less noticible. *If you were careful, you could go without o-rings on the front during school.
12G EXTERNALLY THREADED STEEL STRAIGHT BARBELL (http://www.painfulpleasures.com/xcart/customer/product.php?productid=304&cat=64&page=1) -A 12g straight barbell with very small balls would be smaller than the earrings most girls wear to school.

Thank you all for the help. I've found what I need, ordered it, and currently can't wait to take my chances with the school. Maybe I can hide the jewelry at check-in (I go to an alternative school. We get scanned for knifes and EDIT. :D) and then slip it in after that. The only time I can think they'd notice is when they scan me. Thanks again, guys and gals.
