These just occurred to me for whatever reason.
Do my cartilage piercings not lymph too much (in comparison to my nipple) because the blood flow there is so low? *Or is it one of those it-changes-based-on-the-person things?
Does lots of blushing (the kind that makes your ears turn red) help cartilage piercings heal faster because of the increased blood flow?
Can cartilage piercings migrate?
Does the cartilage grow back if jewelry is removed and the hole allowed to heal?
....in a random mood tonight...

That's a good question, but really, lymph flow isn't so much dependent on the blood flow as it is on the lymph flow, although the lymphatic cells do travel in the blood vessels as well... I think it really depends on how well you care for them and all. Like, my conch didn't really lymph, but the more frequently knocked about helix lymphed more. Plus it also just varies.

The flush of blood is really quite a short lived reaction. I would imagine NOT, because it would be more along the surface capillaries rather than the deeper tissue. However, a blush would help flush toxins out of the area.
Can cartilage piercings migrate?
YES they can. I've known quite a few people that have had daiths migrate.
Does the cartilage grow back if jewelry is removed and the hole allowed to heal?
Cartilage does not regenerate. The hole heals up with just normal skin growing together to fill that hole. [/quote]

Yep, what she said! *
And yeah, cartilage can totally migrate, though it's slower than soft-tissue. *I have a friend who's conch industrial has migrated on the bottom hole, and I know people and have seen pictures of various cartilage piercings that have migrated considerably and even fully rejected all the way out.

So, note to add to regimen: *soaks 2x/day, add drop tea tree 1x/week, have friend say extraordinarily embarassing, naughty, or complimentary thing 3-4x/week....
:P
Thanks! *Good to know about cartilage migrating and lymph and the like. *My industrial seems very happy (I woke up on my left side this morning, and sort of flopped out of bed in shock when I realized that I wasn't in pain or discomfort!) so none of these questions are related to worry. *Just... randomness.

I know... the realization that "hey! this doesn't hurt anymore!" is always kind of spooky and weird.
Then I inevitably thrash my head around my pillow snuggling up to it and tweak something in a bad way. *

I'm so glad my rooks are tucked in and hidden, so I don't have to worry about sleeping on them!
