You'll need a taper in order to stretch your nostril to the larger gauge. *Basically, the stretching process is the same as stretching an earlobe...lube the taper, push it through, put in jewelry. *

HOWEVER, and I speak from personal experience here, IT HURTS WORSE THAN THE INITIAL PIERCING!!! *

Honestly, if you really want to stretch to 16, I'd suggest going in and having your piercer do it for you. *They can do it quicker than you can, so it will be over faster.

Going that large would be very slow, difficult and possibly painful.

Your nose isn't really flexible or elastic like your earlobes so there is a finite amount that you can displace the tissue. You may be able to go that large through stretching, you may not.

I wouldn't recommend it. For nostrils with a piercing that large, dermal punhing is the best and healthiest way to do it.

If you decide to attempt it, take it very, very slow and really pay attention to your piercing and be prepared to not make it to your goal.

First, you would need to find out if your nostril is pierced through just thick skin or through cartilage (everyone's nose is different, some are skin, some are cartilage). *

If it's through cartilage, you will have to punch it.

If it's through skin, there's a posibility that you could reach your goal. *You will need to take it very slowly with at least 2 months in between each stretch, and do daily vitamin e oil massages. *Your nose might not allow you to stretch all the way to 8g, or it may start to change shape if you stretch it too far. *

Be prepared to have the bump too, and you should never stretch if you do have the bump, you'll have to wait for it to go away. *Don't do vitamin e massages with the bump either, it will just make it worse. *So, if you get the bump, you'll have to wait for it to go away and then do at least 2 months of vit. e massages before stretching to the next gauge.

Be prepared for a whole lot of pain, as well.

I can imagine that even if you are able to stretch some thick skin in your nostril, you'll eventually run into cartilage and that will trip you up...

*nods* *it's just a really difficult area to stretch.
