Dahlia bites vs Cheek piercing

Hello everyone! After doing days calling piercers, researching and scouring the Internet I can't decide on if one would more than likely heal better?

Being Dahlias are pretty uncommon there isn't a treasure trove of info about them. I know most oral piercings come with the chance of tooth damage but considering the fact I usually wear gold teeth and frequently practice good hygiene, tooth damage isn't really a big concern to me because much like the human body--teeth are meant to decay at some point or another anyways.

My concern is the rejection/migration rate with Dahlias. Has anyone succeeded in permanently maintaining them? Cheek piercings were initially my 1st interest but after finding out about Dahlias I think I would prefer those since there is less risk of parotid gland damage occurring. Elayne Angel's horrible experience with cheek piercings and other stories I read that were similar to her own has kind of dissuaded me somewhat but I still want one of the two regardless!

There's also the issue with cheek piercings being popular for abscesses and cysts which are regular occurrences stemming from ingrown hair follicles from when I shave in certain areas, so I think there's a huge likelihood of me having that happen with my cheeks as well.

Any advice or support in helping me decide would GREATLY be appreciated! Thx in advance...

Welcome to the Painful Pleasures (PP) community! Please take a moment to tell us a bit more about yourself in the Introduce Yourself area. Also, please read the Rules of the Forum at your convenience.

To keep out unwanted spam messages, all new members must have their first 3 messages approved (vetted) by the moderators before they can post freely.

The forum has undergone some recent changes. Many were for the good, but it also introduced a bug. When an unvetted member posts to an existing discussion, it does not show up as other posts do. If a fully vetted member posts, the section they post in is highlighted and the thread list has a green dot next to the thread they post in. Also if you click on "new posts" it will show up in the list. Unvetted members do not show at all. The only time an unvetted members post show is if they create a new thread and even then it's not very easy to find. PP is working on getting this fixed, but it may take some time.

If you post to the forum for help and you don't get a reply you are not being ignored. Please send a private message and include a thread link.

I would love to give you all the ins and outs of this, but this kind of piercing is not my strong suite. I will have Jarred take a look at this. There are a couple of members with dahlia piercings so you could try asking them. privately as well.
