Will taking a 12 hour old piercing leave a scar behind?

Hello guys, I've been wanting to get a piercing done on my lower left lip since I was a kid and now that I've got it done in age of 21, I regret it beyond belief.. Mainly because of the things I've learned AFTER I've got the piercing done such as gum/teeth problems, scars etc. So my question is, If I take it out right now, will there be scar on my lip and when will the hole go away? From my point of view, my body would react to it as if it were a wounded area and repair it as any other wound there wouldnt be a piercing in its way to repair the damage. I'm really grateful for the responses and thank you in advance.

Welcome to the Painful Pleasures (PP) community! Please take a moment to tell us a bit more about yourself in the Introduce Yourself area. Also, please read the Rules of the Forum at your convenience.

To keep out unwanted spam messages, all new members must have their first 3 messages approved (vetted) by the moderators before they can post freely.

The forum has undergone some recent changes. Many were for the good, but it also introduced a bug. When an unvetted member posts to an existing discussion, it does not show up as other posts do. If a fully vetted member posts, the section they post in is highlighted and the thread list has a green dot next to the thread they post in. Also if you click on "new posts" it will show up in the list. Unvetted members do not show at all. The only time an unvetted members post show is if they create a new thread and even then it's not very easy to find. PP is working on getting this fixed, but it may take some time.

If you post to the forum for help and you don't get a reply you are not being ignored. Please send a private message and include a thread link.

By taking it out before you form a fistula you should heal over like it were any other wound. A small scar may be visible, but I doubt it will be overly noticeable.

In general body mods are best thoroughly researched. That way you are fully informed and ready for what awaits. Please keep it in mind for any future mods.
